Sociologist · Feminist Researcher · Evaluation Specialist
I work with INGOs, governments, universities, foundations and multilateral institutions on research, evaluation, strategy and capacity building — grounded in feminist principles and two decades of field experience.
Design and delivery of qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research; feminist and participatory evaluations; impact evaluations; evidence and literature reviews; and field-based studies and surveys. Recent work includes an external impact evaluation of a rural ECCE programme, exploratory qualitative research with women entrepreneurs in low-income households, and a mixed-methods study on women's empowerment in Nepal.
Leading and supervising research teams, MEAL functions and flagship knowledge portfolios. As Head of MEAL at Oxfam America and Head of Research at Oxfam India, I built learning cultures, led organization-wide systems, and steered flagship products such as the India Inequality Report from concept to launch — including Oxfam International's engagement at Davos.
Organizational strategic planning and design — at organization, division, team and change-goal levels. I connect evaluation and learning approach to planning, decision-making and strategy development processes, applying systems thinking to help organizations adapt and grow.
Design and delivery of training programmes and modules: Qualitative research Training of Trainers (ToT), Gender Training of Trainers (ToT) for programmes on adolescent girls and boys, modules on gender and decent work and the care burden, gender-and-governance training for parliamentarians, and research capacity building for think tanks and practitioners across South Asia.
Programme and project design, and MEL/MEAL systems that institutionalize assessment of outcomes, measurement of impact and learning loops. I co-led the design of Oxfam's WE-Care Phase IV programme and its MEL framework, and have built baseline surveys, M&E agency management and results-based management systems for UN agencies and INGOs.
Knowledge management, policy advocacy and communications strategy — internal and external — using a multi-stakeholder approach. Experience spans media and PR strategy, editorial leadership (The SARCist, Gender & Development Journal), op-eds in national media, and dissemination and branding for regional knowledge platforms.
